Multimedia Computer Playback System
When studying computer systems with multimedia capabilities, it is useful to draw a distinction between those systems used for development and those for playback. Development system needs to be faster and most powerful, and they should have the larges storage capacity and individual could afford. The better tools developers have, the more quickly they can work. On the other hand, the type of computer system used for playback is related to the installed market that is the computer in use.
A typical Multimedia Playback System
* Casing (CPU) - Houses all important parts of a typical computer system.
** Processor : Component that controls the operations of the computer system and performs calculations
** RAM : temporarily stores instructions and data used while an application is running
** Hard Disk : stores all other informations which are needed by the instructions to run an application
** Motherboard : the central or primary circuit board making up a complex electronic system, such as a modern computer. It is also known as a mainboard, baseboard, system board, or, on Apple computers, a logic board, and is sometimes abbreviated as mobo.
* Monitor - Provides primary communication with the user
* Speaker - Provides audio playback to a system
* Mouse and Keyboard - Typical input devices
* Optical Drives and Floppy Drives - Another mean of data storage/retrieval
